Ultraformer III is a medical grade High Frequency Macro and Micro Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) device that contours, lifts and tightens skin with no surgery, no needles and no significant downtime.

How does Ultraformer work and what does it do? Ultraformer uses microfocused energy to target the upper layers of the skin across the face, neck and decolletage, which improve skin tone, pore size and boosts collagen. Deeper settings target the tissue enclosing facial ligaments, for a subtle non-surgical lift of the lower jawline, jowl and cheeks and neck. Bulk heating of small, localised areas of fat, such as the double chin and jowls can be reduced using macro-focused energy, reducing fatty tissue and improving the lower face contours.

What concerns does Ultraformer address? Ultraformer III is ideal to contour and tighten the lower jawline, jowl  and under the chin but can be used on any area of the body. It’s a good match for patients wanting a natural treatment approach, with no needles, no significant downtime and no synthetic products. Dr Grant considers this an essential treatment for patients who are concerned about their lower face dropping or sagging as they age, and has customised a setting for her patients to have every 8- 12 months.

What is the recommended treatment plan for Ultraformer? Depending on concerns, 2-3 treatments are required. Results take time, with maximal impact seen 3- 6 months post treatment. Maintenance sessions are performed every 6- 12 months.

What can I expect during the Ultraformer procedure? Treatment takes 15 - 90 minutes depending on the area treated. Ultrasound gel is applied to the area while the handpeice directs energy into the skin. Some patients find the procedure mildly uncomfortable. Dr Grant advises paracetamol or ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to treatment.

What is the downtime after Ultraformer? There is no significant downtime - the Ultraformer III is a true ‘lunchtime’ treatment. In a small number of patients, redness or mild swelling may develop which will settle with a cool compress, paracetamol or ibuprofen. Deep settings may result in some muscle discomfort for a week or so.
