Tixel to Rejuvenate Delicate Skin

Tixel uses radiant heat to repair sun damaged skin and stimulate collagen for improved texture and radiance -  especially in darker or delicate skins.

Tixel tightens thin skin including the delicate skin of the eyelids, neck and decolletage. A fractionated metal handpiece delivers pure heat energy to the skin, stimulating anti-inflammatory pathways. This boosts the production of healthy collagen and elastin, improving skin quality, fine lines and complexion. As a non-ablative device, it requires minimal social downtime (usually 1 -3 days of red skin) and is safer for delicate skin or patients with medical issues that may impair healing capacity.

What concerns does Tixel address? Tixel addresses mild lines and wrinkles and thin crepey skin, especially delicate areas on the eyelids, neck and decolletage.  It’s safe to use over the upper and lower eyelids - areas traditionally considered challenging - and is our favourite non-surgical eye rejuvenation treatment. It can improve different skin conditions including acne, acne scarring, surgical scars and sun-damaged skin. Tixel addresses mild lines and wrinkles and thin crepey skin, especially delicate areas on the eyelids, neck and decolletage.

What is the recommended treatment plan for Tixel? Before starting treatment you will need a medical consultation with Dr Grant, during which time a medical and dermal therapy plan will be customised to your concerns. Expect a treatment course of 4- 6 treatments every 4 -6 weeks. Most patients then continue on a regular laser maintenance programme of 2- 3 sessions a year.

How to I prepare my skin for Tixel? Before starting treatment, skin is prepared with dermal therapy treatemtns such as corrective peels or Laser Genesis and medical grade homecare for 4 weeks to optimise results. This is especially important for darker skin types to prevent post- inflammatory pigmentation.

What can I expect during the procedure? Tixel is well-tolerated but as a heat-based treatment will feel warm. To ensure comfort, we use a customised topical local anaesthetic prescribed by our doctors. This is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment. The procedure time is 30-60 minutes depending on the area treated.

What is the any downtime after Tixel? Expect red, warm skin for a few hours after treatment similar to a sunburn. Redness and mild swelling of eyelids for 1-3 days is common. Higher energy treatments may result in tiny dry or pigmented dots on the skin which may last 7-10 days. Most clients recommence their usual daily activities the day following treatment. If you have superficial pigmentation this may  darken and crust off. You can wear mineral makeup after 24 hours.

What is the Cost of Tixel? At your initial consultation with Dr Grant, our team will assess your concerns and provide an individualised treatment plan and quote.  Suitability for treatment and costs will be discussed during your consultation.
