Integrated perimenopause care: hormones, skin & metabolic health

When something has shifted

Somewhere in your late 30s or 40s, things can start to shift. It may start as a general fatigue, increased anxiety or a drop in your stress tolerance. It may be harder to get to sleep, or you find yourself waking in the middle of the night. The juggle of work, family and the kids' lunches feels harder than it used to. Your body might start to change too: shifts in body composition, migraines, worsening PMS, and skin that is suddenly red, reactive, dry or sagging.

I have heard it too many times to dismiss:

"I just don't feel like me anymore." "I've lost my mojo." "I feel like I'm going crazy."

These changes are not in your head, and they are not just "stress", "ageing" or "anxiety". These shifts may very well be the signs of perimenopause, a hormonal, cognitive and metabolic transition that can begin years before your periods stop. They are real, and they have a biological origin. If they are bothering you, they deserve proper medical attention.

Most of the women I see are busy and capable, managing careers, families and much more besides. They are not trying to turn back the clock. They want to keep functioning at their best, clear-headed at work, present at home and comfortable in their own skin.

Wanting to look good, feel good and be healthy is not vanity. It is a reasonable expectation for a modern woman, particularly when you consider that the average Australian woman will spend around 40% of her life after menopause. Those years deserve to be lived well. I am here to support you in wanting more for yourself, and to give you a doctor who looks at the whole picture, and a team that cares and will look after you along the way.

“it’s never just about skin.”
