Ultraclear Laser for Smooth, Clear Skin at any age

UltraClear™ Laser sets a new benchmark for advanced laser treatments, revitalising skin with precision, safety, and unparalleled results.

The world' s first MID IR Fibre Laser, UltraClear® is a TGA-approved fractional laser that is clinically proven to deliver an impressive range of benefits- all with cold-fibre technology that minimises recovery time and discomfort.

How does Ultraclear laser work? UltraClear™ Laser is a fractionated laser, which means it targets a certain percentage of the skin, leaving surrounding skin intact. Fractioning laser energy delivery improves healing time and enhances safety, while the fractionated surface area can be adjusted according to skin type and concerns.

Ultraclear™ is the first laser in the world to use fibre optic cables to deliver ultra short, concentrated pulses of energy to the skin. This rapid deliver of heat resurfaces dull and damaged cells, and penetrates deep into the papillary dermis, triggering dermal remodelling and new skin growth.

The energy delivery of Ultraclear™ is revolutionary, resulting in reduced thermal injury, treatment risk and downtime compared to traditional ablative CO2 and erbium lasers. This makes Ultraclear™ this the laser of choice for patients who want to return to work faster, for patients with darker skin types (e.g. Asian, Mediterranean or Indian), for those with melasma prone skin, or patients with concerns on delicate high risk areas such as the neck and decolletage. These factors set Ultraclear apart from older ablative laser technology like CO2 and erbium lasers, getting patients back to work and social life faster than ever.

By initiating the skin’s self-healing process UltraClear® promotes the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. The result is smooth, clear and fresh new skin without synthetic products, surgery or needles.

What Conditions Does the UltraClear™ Laser Address? UltraClear™ has multiple laser modes, giving it the unique ability to addresses multiple signs of aging in one session including:

  • Fine Lines & Deep Wrinkles

  • Enlarged pores

  • Textural changes from advanced ageing such as glycation and deep lines

  • Pigmentation & Age Spots eg lentigenes, sun spots and benign keratoses

  • Scars - including acne, surgical and traumatic scars, even on darker skin tones.

  • Thin, crepey skin on the face, neck, decolletage and hands

  • Upper lip lines (“Smokers Lines”)

  • Periorbital (eye) concerns such as thin skin, fines lines, pigmentation and skin laxity

  • Neck rejuvenation, addressing pigmentation, poikiloderma, thin skin, and laxity all in the same treatment.

  • Skin Laxity on the face, neck and body

The UltraClear™ Laser is gentle enough for use on virtually any part of the body, including delicate areas around the eyes, neck, décolletage, abdomen and hands, providing long-lasting results.

How do I prepare for a UltraClear™ Laser  Treatment ?  Before you start with an ablative treatment, our team will assess your skin to determine if its suitable for an ablative laser. Some patients benefit from a series of corrective peels or lasers to get their skin laser ready. This will ensure the skin is hydrated and in the best shape to repair post treatment.

We ask that you prepare the skin with our prescribed home care for 2- 4 weeks before the laser to optimise results. We include the post care pack in the cost of a treatment, which includes everything your skin needs to thrive through the ablative process. If you have darker skin, Dr Grant will prescribe you a medication to reduce post- inflammatory pigmentation, which should be used for 6 weeks prior to treatment. All patients should use daily SPF and avoid any irritating products such as Vitamin C, retinol or exfoliants for 3 days prior to your treatment. Do not use spray tan or expose the skin to the sun for tanning for 2- 3 weeks prior to, and during your series of treatments.

What is the recommended treatment plan? Dr Grant recommends a series of 2- 3 treatments spaced two months apart. Patients often prefer several medium depth treatments , however, if your skin has signs of severe sun damage or ageing, more you will benefit from a more aggressive treatment.  Maintenance treatments are scheduled every 12- 18 months depending on the level of treatment performed your skin concerns, lifestyle and expectations. If you invest in a treatment, we highly recommending maintaining the results.

What can I expect during the procedure? The Ablative Utraclear treatment is not a beauty treatment- it is a medical procedure. At your initial consultation, Dr Grant will customise a treatment plan and discuss measures to ensure you are comfortable during the procedure, including a prescription for a sedative or strong pain killer- in this case do not drive to your appointment. A compounded local anaesthetic will be applied to the skin 60 minutes before the treatment. Most of our patients find the procedure comfortable, with average pain score 4/10. The procedure will take 1- 2 hours depending on your treatment plan. After the procedure we will use cool air and saline soaks to cool the skin. Additional areas such as the neck, décolletage, and hands can be added to your treatment or performed over time after your face heals. We offer a complimentary course of 6 Healite treatments to use 2 weeks post laser to improve healing time and reduce redness, it’s also a good opportunity for you to check in with our team for reassurance.

What is the Downtime from UltraClear® Treatment? One of the key benefits of the UltraClear™ Laser is minimal downtime. Expect redness, swelling, crusted skin, and discomfort for the first few days, which settles after day 3. During this period, there is a risk of infection, so you must be diligent with hygiene and post-care. We will provide you with strict post-care instructions and a post-care kit. Most patients find that their skin starts to exfoliate naturally and peel off on Day 5, with the majority resuming social and work activities after 5 days. Makeup, concealers and sun cream can be applied after the skin has shed. The skin may remain red, dry, and sensitive for a few months. You need to be patient and allow the skin to heal.

What is the Cost of an Ultraclear Treatment? At your initial consultation with Dr Grant, our team will assess your concerns and provide an individualised treatment plan and quote.  Suitability for treatment and costs will be discussed during your consultation. Prices start from $350 for a small scar, with pakcgae discounts for 2- 3 treatments. Our university qualified dermal therapists can perform certain Ultraclear treatments under direction from Dr Grant,  which is a more cost effective way of having treatments.  Dr Grant performs advanced customised Ultraclear and Laser Coring treatments  which are doctor only treatments.
