Tixel to Rejuvenate Delicate Skin
Tixel uses radiant heat to repair sun damaged skin and stimulate collagen for improved texture and radiance - especially in darker or delicate skins.
How does Tixel work and what does it do? Tixel improves the quality of skin via the application of heat to the skin. A fractionated metal handpeice delivers pure heat energy to the skin, stimulating anti-inflammatory pathways. This boosts the production of healthy collagen and elastin, improving skin quality, fine lines and complexion.
What concerns does Tixel address? Tixel addresses mild lines and wrinkles and thin crepey skin, especially delicate areas on the eyelids where is can be used right up the last line of the lower lid and over the eyelid - areas traditionally considered challenging . It is out recommended non-surgical eye rejuvenation treatment for patients wanting minimal downtime. Tixel can also improve skin conditions such as acne, acne scarring, surgical scars and sun-damaged skin. As a non-ablative device, it is suitable for for patients with delicate skin or those with medical issues that impair healing capacity.
What is the recommended treatment plan for Tixel? Expect a treatment course of 4- 6 treatments every 4 -6 weeks. Patients then continue on a maintenance programme of 2- 3 sessions a year.
What can I expect during the Tixel procedure? Tixel is well-tolerated but as a heat-based treatment will feel warm. To ensure comfort, we use a customised topical local anaesthetic prescribed by our doctors. This is applied 30 minutes prior to treatment. The procedure time is 15 -60 minutes depending on the area treated.
What is the downtime after Tixel? Expect red, warm skin for a few hours after treatment similar to a sunburn. Redness and mild swelling of eyelids for 1-3 days is common. Higher energy treatments may result in tiny dry or pigmented dots on the skin which may last 7-10 days. Most clients recommence their usual daily activities the day after treatment, at which time makeup and SPF can be applied. If you have superficial pigmentation this may darken and crust off. .
What is the Cost of Tixel? At your initial consultation with Dr Grant will assess your concerns and provide an individualised treatment plan and quote. Suitability for treatment and costs will be discussed during your consultation.
Consultation Prior to Treatment All cosmetic treatments have risks. As a medical doctor with post graduate training in aesthetics, Dr Grant takes a measured, responsible and cautious approach to treatments and will discuss associated risks in the context of your personal health and aesthetic concerns, and how to mitigate and manage them during your consultation.
