Dermal fillers are composed of naturally occurring gels found in skin and soft tissue. These gels are used in cosmetic medicine to replace volume loss associated with ageing and enhance natural facial features.
When done by an expert injector, dermal fillers won't look fake or obvious. At Thrive Skin Clinic we do not like an "overfilled" face and we will strive to produce a natural result. We won't leave you with "duck lips" or looking like a contestant on a reality T.V. show!
Dermal fillers come in a range of different densities and hydrating capacity. Dense dermal fillers are used to emphasise natural structures in the face such as the cheekbones and jawline. This helps to lift sagging cheeks and soften lower face jowl lines. Softer products hydrate and 'fill in' skin lines or scars in the skin and are used to add volume and definition- these are best for lips and the perioral region. Very fine dermal fillers "skin boosters" are used to stimulate collagen, improve skin texture and enhance hydration. Skin boosters can be used in any area of the body and work particularly well for subtle lines, sun damaged skin on the neck and décolletage and for hands.
It's very common to want to enhance your natural features and dermal fillers offer a low cost and non surgical approach to achieve a refreshed and more youthful face.
Fillers are not permanent and the results last up to 9-12 months. An effect will be noticeable immediately but it may take a few weeks for mild swelling and bumpiness to settle. Dermal filler procedures should be planned in advance before important events.
There is a significant amount of skill and training required to use dermal fillers. To inject safely the injector needs to be aware of facial anatomy (muscles and blood vessels) in order to get the best outcomes and prevent complications. Our experienced practitioners will match your desired outcome with the right product and the correct anatomical landmarks. At Thrive Skin Clinic our injectors are also trained in advanced cannula techniques which minimise the risk of bruising and swelling and improve safety,
Dermal filler injections are a medical procedure and should only ever be administered by an experienced and qualified medical professional. All of our injectors have completed extensive medical and anatomy training in order to inject safely and avoid adverse effects. We only use premium quality TGA approved products and will provide you with post care followup.
