I’m pregnant, can I still be treated?
The answer is….it depends. Some peels and dermal treatments are safe in pregnancy, while others aren’t. The same holds for light and energy based devices (IPL, Laser and Tixel) - some not recommended in pregnancy or during lactation. However recently there has been a huge, evidence based review of the “old” guidelines, which has showed some treatments are safe. Unfortunately, it’s not considered safe to have cosmetic injectable treatments if you are pregnant or breast feeding. This is based on theorhetical not actual risk.
Our advice is- come in and have a consultation. We will be able to advice you on a safe treatment plan and ensure the safety of your precious baby is not compromised!
I have an event coming up soon, how long is downtime for your treatments?
Cosmetic treatments are elective and they can have downtime. Please be sensible and allow sufficient time to recover before you have an important event. Ask us for advice if you have a particular social event planned so we can have you looking your best.
General downtime for our most popular treatments…
Anti-wrinkle injections don’t have any significant downtime but please don’t exercise, lie down or rub the treatment area for four hours. There is always the risk of bruising, especially for treatments around the eye area.
Dermal filler injections will generally cause bruising and swelling. This will settle in 1-2s weeks. Having an LED treatment after your treatment will redude this risk significantly and is highly recommended! Avoid touching the area and wearing makeup for 24 hours. Application of ice and paracetamol will reduce any swelling or pain.
PRP treatments may cause extensive bruising and swelling, especially around the eyes. Swelling and redness will settle in 1-3 days. Bruising may take a 1-2 weeks to fade. Avoid touching the area and wearing makeup for 24 hours. Do not use ice as it will reduce the clinical outcome. Having an LED treatment after your treatment will redude this risk significantly and is highly recommended! Pain killers such as paracetamol can be used for discomfort.
I’m taking medication, are there any concerns?
