All initial consultations are 30 minutes, these can be booked online or over the phone. Standard AMA rates apply.

Please note that Dr. Grant will not be offering routine General Practice consultations.

Dr. Grant has a special interest in skin health. As such, Thrive Skin Clinic is now the leading clinic in the Illawarra to seek advice for acne, acne scarring, rosacea, and pigment disorders.

These types of skin issues often benefit from a holistic approach, involving management through lifestyle, medical intervention, advanced skin treatments and laser therapies. Skin concerns are often complex and are best treated under the guidance of a doctor, if you have ongoing symptoms that have not settled using over-the-counter products, it’s worth booking a consultation with Dr. Grant.

All initial consultations are 30 minutes, however this may vary depending on severity and complexity of the problem. These can be booked online or over the phone. Standard AMA rates apply.

What you should know before booking:

• Medicare rebates may be applicable for non-cosmetic consultations i.e. severe rosacea, acne and pigment disorders.

  • Medicare rebates four sessions per year (recently reduced from six).

  • To access this rebate, you will need to have a medical assessment with Dr. Grant, this includes photos being taken for formal assessment by Medicare.

• If you wish to have a tele-health consultation for follow-up (not applicable to initial consultations), you will not be able to claim a Medicare rebate. However, many patients love the convenience of this service!

• The cost for one session of IPL without a medicare rebate (face only) is $200. With a medicare rebate, this drops to $67.50.

Dr. Grant is able to perform medical injections to reduce bruxism (teeth grinding), Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome, and facial pain.

Note that these conditions can be complex in nature and that some clients will not receive a benefit from injections. However, in some instances our clients have experienced fantastic outcomes:

• Reduced facial pain

• Decreased muscle tension

• Improved sleep

In the instance that a client will not benefit from medical injections, Dr. Grant will advise on other appropriate treatment interventions including lifestyle, medication, referral to an osteopath or maxillofacial surgeon.

What you should know before booking:

• A Medicare rebate is offered to cover the cost of the initial medical consultation for TMJ Syndrome and Bruxism, but is not available for the medical injections.

  • A medicare rebate is not available for Masseter Sliming injections.

• The average cost of medical injections for bruxism (teeth grinding) is $500.

• Clients are generally reassessed at 6 weeks post treatment and may need re-treatment at this stage, depending on the severity of the condition.

• Treatments are generally done every 9-12 months.
